Piedmont Cartooning Camp: Ages 7-12

Time: 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

Create your own cartoon characters and storylines. We will cover inking, coloring, lettering, and how to make backgrounds. This is a great class for all skill levels. Students will receive a custom workbook created by the teacher, and will create a mini comic book. Materials are provided (except for a sketchbook) and will include micron pens, markers, pencils, erasers, and more.

Piedmont Creativity Camp: Ages 7-12

Create art inspired by the techniques and ideas of famous illustrators, painters, and writers. We will study the works of Maurice Sendak, Hokusai, Frida Kahlo, Dr. Seuss, Kandinsky, Shel Silverstein, Mary Blair, and more. Students explore many materials and art techniques such as ink, textile art, collage, watercolor, colored pencil, stamping, and mixed media. All skill levels welcome. Materials are included.

Piedmont Clothed Figure Drawing Camp: Ages 11-18

Time: 1:00 PM-2:30 PM

Do you love to draw, but need to improve your skills in drawing the human figure? We will learn how to do gesture drawing, portraiture, short poses, and longer poses. Our materials will be pencil, ink, charcoal, conte, watercolor, and mixed media. Learn proportion, rendering, value, composition, and how to strengthen your technique. You will complete several drawings/paintings for your portfolio. The cost of the model is included in the price of the class.

Piedmont Portfolio Intensive Camp: Ages 11-18

Would you like to improve your art skills and learn how to draw more realistically exploring a variety of materials and techniques? This class will provide you with the foundations of life-drawing, portraiture, perspective, still life, the figure, landscape, and develop your particular strengths. All levels of skill are welcome. The instructor has been a teacher and portfolio reviewer at SOTA (School of the Arts) and has created and taught the Portfolio Program at Sharon Art Studio for a decade.

Students can sign up for one week or two consecutive weeks. Week One will focus on drawing and Week Two will focus on color & painting. Students will gain a wider range of skills and media approaches with the two week option.
